Here to Serve, an innovative and emerging 501 (c) (3) nonprofit that helps families in life-and-death medical crisis, announces it will honor the life of 2012 Glendora High School graduate Chris Vega at their Inaugural Golf Tournament, Dinner and Auc

Sierra Madre (I-Newswire) September 21, 2012 - Here to Serve is holding its Inaugural Golf Tournament, Dinner and Auction on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Via Verde Country Club in San Dimas to raise funds for much-needed non-medical services for families experiencing a life-threatening health crisis with a loved one. During the event they will honor the life of 18-year-old Glendora High School graduate Chris Vega who lost a year-long battle with leukemia on September 17, 2012. Chris and his family found compassionate support during their medical journey with Here to Serve's programs.

"It is privilege to honor Chris and his family for the courageous life-and-death battle they waged this last year. We are holding a golf tournament and auction to raise funds to help not only the Vega family but the one in five families who in the next 12 months will confront a dire medical crisis they neither asked for or expected." said Here to Serve Founder/CEO Kathleen Quintas. "The Vega family faces the worse kind of grief with the loss of their child. We want other families to know they are loved and cared for throughout their difficult medical journey and that is why we launched Here to Serve in 2011 at City of Hope."

Ms. Quintas started Here to Serve, a Los Angeles area nonprofit, to mobilize and organize friends, community members, businesses and organizations to come to the aid and provide targeted support to families caring for a critically ill loved one. Every person and each organization is vetted by Here to Serve or the families themselves to provide the best non-medical assistance. Here to Serve guides families through the maze of services and resources, assisting with paper work and responding to the ever-changing caregiver needs brought about by the medical crisis.

Among the auction items are: a Twosome at L.A. Country Club; Vegas Trip with Airfare, Accommodations and Golf at a PGA Course; Signed John Wooden "Pyramid of Success"; Signed Matt Barkley USC Football; 4 Clubhouse Passes to Northern Trust Open; Four, 2013 Season, Field Box Seats at Dodger Game; 1 week, 2 br.
