BedMart Mattress Superstores and Tempur-Pedic Fight Pancreatic Cancer With In-Store Event During Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

Online, November 21, 2013 (Newswire.com) - BedMart Mattress Superstores Portland, OR— BedMart, the largest family owned and operated mattress retailer in Oregon announces participation in the Tempur-Pedic® Hugs Back campaign. This campaign features a "Rest Test" promotion whereby Tempur-Pedic North America, LLC will donate $10 to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for every consumer who tries Tempur-Pedic products during the month of November at BedMart locations. Furthermore, BedMart will have representatives from the organization in-store at two of its Portland area locations on November 23, 2013 from 12-3pm and will be donating an additional $50 for every Tempur-Pedic set sold at any of its 27 locations that day. These efforts are to help draw attention to the promotion and raise funds and awareness for the fight against this devastating illness.

Pancreatic cancer currently has a six percent five-year survival rate, the lowest among all major cancers. This year alone more than 37,000 Americans will succumb to pancreatic cancer, while nearly 44,000 more will be diagnosed. According to a recently released report, the number of pancreatic cancer deaths is on the rise, and it is anticipated to become the second largest cancer killer in the U.S. by 2020, and possibly as early as 2015.
