Beauty Recycles and Glamour Gone Good Forge Alliance to Transform the Beauty Industry

Non-profits Beauty Recycles and Glamour Gone Good have teamed up to promote social responsibility in the Beauty Industry.

Atlanta, GA (I-Newswire) June 8, 2012 - Non-profits Beauty Recycles and Glamour Gone Good have teamed up to give the Beauty Industry an attitude adjustment. With focus on giving back to the environment and the community, these two organizations have come together to create a more accountable industry.

“The Beauty Industry has a bad reputation for promoting beauty at any cost,” explains Beauty Recycles Founder and Executive Director, Barrissa Gardner. “It’s our aim to bridge the gap between vanity and humanity.”

The average consumer spends $100 a month on beauty products. The industry often criticized for setting unrealistic appearance standards and damaging self-esteem, will produce a projected 25.5 billion containers this year. Gardner reports over 70% will end up in landfills.

Beauty Recycles promotes environmental consciousness, landfill avoidance, and green growth opportunities in the Beauty Industry. Glamour Gone Good, Inc. engages salon, spa, fashion and beauty industry professionals in fundraising for women and girls’ charities. Glamour Gone Good will provide administrative support and guidance for fledgling non-profit, Beauty Recycles. Through this alliance, the organizations will fuel each other’s missions through collaborative initiatives with one central focus - Beauty.

“We both want to create a culture of caring in the Industry; our partnership only made sense,” expresses Shikha Vasaiwala, Founder and CEO of Glamour Gone Good. “We are so excited about the social and environmental impact we can have working with Beauty Recycles.”

According to Gardner and Vasaiwala, this relationship started a year ago on Twitter. Both share the sentiment that this is the beginning of something beautiful.
