Back For An Encore Visit, Park Hyatt Saigon Is Pleased To Present The Return Of Rie Furuse To Park Lounge

An accomplished musical talent performing six nights a week at Park Hyatt Saigon

Park Hyatt Saigon proudly presents the return of Rie Furuse as the resident entertainer in Park Lounge. Growing up in Japan, Rie started her musical repertoire playing piano at the early age of 3, then mastering the flute at 12. Because of such admiration for Patti Austin, Lorez Alexandria and Renata Mauro, her growing interest dictated her future vocation. Taking matters into her own hands, she proceeded to take vocal training under the tutelage of Erina Iwasaki and Sabrina Montgomery.

Whilst studying for a degree in French Literature at Dokkyo University in Tokyo, she discovered a fascination for Jazz and simultaneously launched her singing career. After performing in several Jazz clubs in Tokyo, she decided to embark on the international stage by recording her first album in Boston, USA. In 2007, Rie flew to Hawaii to continue her singing career, followed by touring in Singapore and Vietnam at 25. During her time in Vietnam, Rie was recognized in the festival of 48-Hour Film Project Awards held in Ho Chi Minh City. She received Best Music Award for her ballad, "The One", which was featured on the movie soundtrack, "Postcards from Heaven".

Rie then decided to move to Paris to follow the footsteps of the great jazz giants who cultivated the scene in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. As a result, she created her own musical style, a mix of Contemporary Jazz, Fusion, Funk and Jazz-Pop.

Rie returns for her second engagement at Park Hyatt Saigon, performing in Park Lounge every night, except Wednesdays, 8.00 PM - 11.45 PM, from March 1 - April 30, 2013.
