Axis of Love Medical Cannabis Compassionate Community Center Demands New Definition

Low-income medical cannabis patients of San Francisco demand new definition of medical cannabis dispensary in order to keep continuing operations of local compassion center that provides various services and free cannabis medicine to its members.

Axis of Love Medical Cannabis Community Center is collecting signatures for a petition to continue its services and compassion. Although Axis of Love sells no medical cannabis, or any other products or services, this center is in danger of ceasing operations. Because Axis of Love provides free, donated medical cannabis to its members, the center may have to register as a Medical Cannabis Dispensary. The City of San Francisco has decided to view Axis of Love as a Medical Cannabis Dispensary (MCD), which means that the center must go through a rigorous permitting process and applications to continue operating. This is a very tedious and expensive process that can cost over $50,000. As a donation-based, non-profit organization, Axis of Love may not be able to continue current operations because of the nature of the definition that directs the center to apply as an MCD.

Low-income, disabled, elderly and veteran medical cannabis patients of San Francisco need your help. For over three years, Axis of Love has been a space of refuge and aid for some of the neediest medical cannabis patients of San Francisco. Providing various forms of assistance, including help with housing and providing donations offood, clothing, massage therapy and free compassionate medical cannabis to its members, Axis of Love has been able to improve the lives of many local San Francisco patients based on donations from the San Francisco community, medical cannabis organizations and dispensaries and local independent medical cannabis growers.

Axis of Love is an organization that has not only provided much needed support to its immediate members, but it has also educated and allied itself with various causes, movements and legislation regarding medical cannabis in San Francisco. Supporting new dispensaries, protecting patients rights, court support and organizing rallies around medical cannabis issues, Axis of Love members have been actively involved in giving a voice to patient issues at home

Medical cannabis patients need the community's compassion to help keep its doors open.

A petition has been started to help redefine what is an MCD so that Axis of Love can continue its operations and serve its members. Hosted by Change.org, it is available at the following link through http://www.facebook.com/axisoflove

Axis of Love and its members hope that local community and all medical cannabis patients support the center and help allow it to continue its free services and compassion. Axis of Love is open to supporting new legislative proposals that will help the center continue operations, however at this current time the demand for a new definition of MCD will be a first step. Axis of Love wants to work with San Francisco to keep the community served and educated.
