Noida,11 March

AIM:

• Awareness in different slums and villages of Delhi NCR
• Workshop in different school, colleges of Delhi NCR

YES and International children film forum is going to place a projector in different slums of Delhi N.C.R to spread awareness regarding issues such as compulsory education, health hazard diseases, Sarv shiksha abhiyan, Harmful effects of drugs, alcohol consumption, female foeticide, child labour & Right to information act. And also, to make them aware about different government schemes especially made for them but it’s an irony in INDIA that the people are not at all aware of such schemes for which the schemes are made.

Till now few government agencies and non profit organizations tried to aware these people through various activities like street plays (Nukkar-Natak) and it’s proved to be effective in some areas. YOUNG ENERGETIC SOCIETY and International children film forum is adapting unique and advanced ideas to aware them with the help of the projector. As most of these people doesn’t have small screen at their places. Dr. Avinash Unithan (Patron, YES) “This method of projecting the awareness programs on large screen is attractive one to make the people of the underprivileged section stick at one place and watch the programmes.”

In 2009, YES run this project on a pilot phase for 7 days in the slums of noida and got very positive results. Special invitees were Mrs. Poonam Azad (socialist),Ms. Tania Walia (Channel head, Azad News), Mr. Satvir singh Gurjar (MLA, Dadri, Noida),Ms Benu Sehgal(V.P, GIP), Mr. Ashok Srivastava(socialist)

The sole aim was to bring a change in the society. The speakers expressed their concern about the present scenario of slum areas and agreed on a social change and expected that youngsters could only bring a revolutionary change. A platform was provided to the slum people to discuss their problems. People from the slums of sec. 16, 17, 18, and 50 shared their problems. The event encapsulated a wide range of activities like dance performances, Play on child labour and seminar on awareness.

Dr. Avinash (Patron,YES) “We will cover more the 20 slums in next 2 months in order to spread awareness and we are sincerely working on this project, to make it more effective.

Souvik sur (President ) and Jagroop singh (G. Sec, YES) “We are looking forward to run this project in other cities also. Last year we got very good results ant hope to get this year too.
