Award-Winning Little Town of Bethlehem To Screen at 2011 International EuroArab Film Festival AMAL

Little Town of Bethlehem, a bold and daring documentary from EthnoGraphic Media (EGM), has been accepted for screening at the 2011 International EuroArab Film Festival AMAL to be held October 24-29 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

Oklahoma City (I-Newswire) October 6, 2011 - Oklahoma City ─ The AMAL festival was launched in 2003 by the Araguaney Foundation – Bridge of Cultures to foster collaboration in the global film industry by bringing together feature films, short films, and documentaries with Arabic-related themes. AMAL was named after an Arab word for hope to convey the desire of organizers to promote worldwide cultural understanding, particularly between Spain and the Arab World.

EGM believes Little Town of Bethlehem is a perfect fit for Festival AMAL. “We identify with their mission to boost dialogue between cultures through the worldwide language of cinema,” explains Bill Oeschsler, president of EGM. “We are convinced that telling gripping stories is one of the most powerful ways to shine a light on the critical issues of our time. The Israeli/Palestinian conflict is one of those issues. Little Town of Bethlehem tells the story of the long-awaited nonviolence movement in a land dominated by fear, hatred, and division.”
Screenings for Little Town of Bethlehem will be in the Santiago de Compostela’s “Teatro Principal” at 20H00, from October 24th and 28th.

Little Town of Bethlehem was produced by Mart Green and directed by Jim Hanon. This full-length documentary shares the gripping story of three men—a Palestinian Muslim, a Palestinian Christian, and an Israeli Jew—each born into violence but willing to risk everything to bring an end to violence in their lifetime. At great personal cost, they join together in a heroic and dangerous cause. In the city of Bethlehem, where God became man, these men stand side by side with those whose only desire is to be treated as equals, as fellow human beings. Their story brings the possibility of real hope to this embattled region and provides a model for resolution of hostilities throughout the world. Little Town of Bethlehem was filmed on location in the West Bank, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem with the intention of bringing awareness to a growing nonviolent movement in the Holy Land that rarely, if ever, makes international headlines.
