The Avila Media Corporation announced the launch of Jovencita Magazine, a bilingual online magazine for Young Latinas, embracing the fastest growing teen market.

Miami (I-Newswire) December 8, 2011 - Today, the Avila Media Corporation announced the launch of Jovencita Magazine (jovencitamagazine.com) an online magazine for Latinas age 15-19 that celebrates their youth and being Latina. The online magazine will feature content in both English and Spanish sections of the website. The English section officially launched December 6, 2011, while the Spanish section will officially launch on December 20, 2011.

Jovencita Magazine is an online magazine for teen Latinas that features editorial sections on Beauty, Health, Life, Culture, Quince, Prom, and College along with blogs, polls, contest, giveaways and an online forum to let girls communicate, inspire and share advice and tips with other girls.

“It’s time to have a magazine like Jovencita Magazine, where young Latinas can go and find content that is relevant to them not only in terms of culture, but also for their age group. With a magazine that is age appropriate we can provide fun content, but also touch on important issues in the Hispanic Community and issues that affect our teens, said Elaina Avila,” founder of Jovencita Magazine.

“With the launch of Jovencita Magazine, there is an opportunity to provide an online community for girls to engage with their peers and to embrace being Latina, and empower young girls at a very critical stage in their life. Jovencita Magazine will also show advertisers what is important to the teen girls in our community. There is a greater focus on Latina Moms, but not on Latina Teens, and we want to fill that gap”.

The Hispanic Teen market is one of the fastest growing markets according to the U.S. Census Bureau. According to Census data, Hispanic youth accounts for 20% of the U.S. teen population, and by 2020 the Hispanic teen population is expected to grow 62% compared to only 10% in the overall teen market. One-third of all U.S Hispanics are 18 or younger, and half of U.S. Hispanics are under 26. The majority of Hispanic teens are U.S. born and bilingual, balancing a world strong in Hispanic culture and mainstream America, responding to relevant content not language.
