Atlanta Trial Lawyer Marc Howard Attends State Bar Board of Governors Meeting

Atlanta trial lawyer and attorney Marc Howard of Pope & Howard, LLC attended the Georgia State Bar Board of Governors Meeting in Jekyll Island, Georgia

Trial Lawyer Marc Howard, co-founder of Atlanta's Pope & Howard P.C. law firm, recently attended the Board of Governors meeting on Jekyll Island, Georgia.

The Board of Governors is the governing body for all lawyers in the State of Georgia. The meeting included budget discussions, ethics investigations, continuing legal education, the Military Legal Assistance Program, and reports from the judiciary.

"These events are so important because they allow lawyers from all over Georgia to come together to really focus on setting policy for the State Bar," said Howard.

The Board of Governors also considers changes to ethical rules for attorneys throughout the state, and reviews legislative policies. "It's critical we stay on top of what's changing in the profession so our policies can adapt to those changes," Howard added.

Howard has served as a member of the State Bar Board of Governors since 2010. Of the approximately 43,000 lawyers in Georgia, only 150 serve on the Board of Governors.

Howard, a 2012 Georgia Super Lawyer who was also named a "Legal Elite" lawyer in Georgia Trend Magazine, received his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia's School of Law in 1993. He partnered with Geoff Pope in 2005 to start the Pope & Howard, P.C., law firm in Atlanta. His full professional bio is available online at http://popehoward.com/howard.php.
