Studio City, CA (I-Newswire) December 7, 2011 - 19Events brought out supporters, sports figures, and celebrities alike, to raise money for individuals battling ALS (Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis) during the Chargers vs Jaguars MNF Game at Gordon Biersch in Burbank, CA. Many fans came out to cheer on their team along-side these celebrities and to raise funds as part of Ronnie Lott’s Second Annual "Drive to Survive" Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Eric’s Vision, which will be held in 2012. Ronnie Lott, former teammates, friends, and supporters came out to lend their support to Eric’s Vision, a non-profit organization that aims to raise support for individuals battling ALS, fund ALS cure-driven research, and inspire further research by providing college scholarships to deserving high school students.

Eric’s Vision began because Eric Scoggins, teammate of Ronnie Lott at USC & with the San Francisco 49ers, was diagnosed with ALS in 2007 and passed away in 2009. Ronnie Lott became involved as the President and served on the Board of Directors for Eric’s Vision, with fellow 49er Keena Turner, as a way of honoring the memory of his friend, college roommate at USC, and fellow 49er.

Former teammates and friends who supported this event were Dwight Hicks (2 time Super Bowl Champion with the 49ers), Deborah Carson (Fox Sports Radio anchor), Kent Faulcon ("Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse"), comedian/actor/author/comedy writer, Wayne Federman, noted stage and screen actor Scott Lowell (most known for ‘Ted’ on US "Queer as Folk"), with Brad Rutter (All-Time Jeopardy! Champion) and was MC’ed by former MLB great and A.L.S. research supporter, Jay Johnstone. Live auction and raffle items ranged from gift certificates and golf foursome give-aways from Debell Golf Course in Burbank to CSI: Miami set visits & autographed scripts. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno offered tours & memorabilia while Jay Johnstone donated proceeds from his silent auction, which included signed sports, music, and movie collections.
