Atex Announces New CMS H11 SP10 Release

Atex (www.atex.com), the largest and longest-serving provider of software and services for the global news media industry, announces the release of its latest H-Series editorial content management system.

Reading (I-Newswire) January 30, 2013 - The new release, H11 SP10, provides a number of powerful enhancements designed for newsroom speed, efficiency, ease-of-use and automation.

One of the main features of the new Atex release is the redesigned user interface that streamlines daily processes, automates common editorial activities and improves productivity. The Atex Newsroom application now introduces the standard “Ribbon User Interface”, which was first introduced in Microsoft Office and is today a Windows standard. Editorial users can propose story ideas and follow the evolution of these ideas in a multi-channel environment, where content can be repurposed and published easily to any print or digital destination. Semantic content enrichment automates tasks that were previously executed manually.

Usability
In the new H11 SP10 release, Atex Newsroom organises icons and functions in a series of tabs, providing a more modern and efficient user experience. Functionalities have been redesigned to take advantage of the new user interface (like pictures manipulation, document operations, settings windows etc.) and other elements of the user interaction have been improved to simplify daily operations., like an integrated functionality to generate and paginate QR Codes.

Planning
The Atex Sked application is enhanced in the latest release to improve the newsroom planning process in a multi-channel environment. The Sked application is the starting point in the development and evolution of a story idea. Sked helps to foster a collaborative workflow where proposals, requests and events are submitted. As a browser-based application, Sked can be accessed using any browser tool, including Windows Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome.

Enhancements include the possibility to manage Image Galleries, set categories from the web site taxonomy tree and integration with email and texting system.

Atex Text Mining
The Atex Text Mining (ATM) engine is designed to help editorial users in organising the massive amount of information they manage every day, while at the same time creating greater content consistency and improving the accuracy, speed and relevancy of users’ search experience.

With ATM, publishers are able to take greater control of their content and streamline the process of classifying content. ATM automatically categorises content so that interested users are encouraged to "read more" or "find similar" stories based on information mined from the articles they are viewing. Showing links to related content helps generate new revenue as the average clicks per session and “stickiness” increases when site visitors stay to view related material.

In the H11 SP10 release ATM is integrated into the editorial workflow; editorial users can preview the results of the mining and categorization process and provide additions and amendments, with the goal of increasing the quality of the metadata associated to an article and to effortlessly enhance the results of the automated tagging process.

InDesign Jumps
The latest H-11 SP10 release supports a more powerful and easy-to-use jump facility in pages created with Adobe® InDesign. Creating a jump story in InDesign is now as simple as selecting the two menu entries ‘Jump to’ and ‘Jump from’ and assigning a Jump Name. These jump entries can be used to reflow a story whenever a change is made that causes the layout to be resized or the text to flow differently.

The H-11 SP10 release is fully integrated and supports Adobe® InDesign, InCopy and InDesign Server CS6.
