Astute Networks to Showcase Newest ViSX Flash-Based Performance Storage Appliances at SNW Spring

Company to Deliver Solution Spotlight Session on Cost-effectively Exploiting Flash to End Storage Bottlenecks

SNW Spring Conference,-- Astute NetworksTM, Inc., the leading provider of performance storage appliances, today announced that it will be featuring public demonstrations of its ViSX Networked FlashTM storage system during SNW Spring, April 2 - 4 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla in booth #108. Astute Networks' Senior Director of Products James Bahn will also be delivering a Solution Spotlight presentation, "Exploiting Flash to End Storage Bottlenecks," at 10:30 a.m. on April 4.

"Storage professionals are under relentless pressure to make certain that their end users are satisfied with application performance," said James Bahn. "Flash-based solutions can help solve storage related performance issues, but it can be difficult to navigate the differences between the myriad of different flash options. During SNW, I will be sharing simple steps for evaluating the different classes of flash solutions to help narrow down the best alternatives to help enterprises unleash the full performance potential of their virtual and physical applications."

The Astute ViSX performance storage appliance was purpose-built to address I/O-intensive applications such as databases, virtualized applications, and virtualized desktops (VDI). ViSX incorporates the patented DataPump EngineTM processor that completely offloads and dramatically accelerates network and storage protocol processing. The combination of a network-optimized flash and an advanced iSCSI and TCP protocol processor eliminates all critical I/O bottlenecks that affect application and VDI performance and delivers unprecedented random IOPS performance and IOPS per dollar. The solution works seamlessly with all virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, and Red Hat RHEV and complements existing SAN or NAS environments with a non-disruptive, highly optimized solid state flash-based storage tier.

SNW is the world's largest independently produced conference series focused on the evolution of architecture for a new world of mobility, Big Data and business agility. Produced by Computerworld - and co-owned by Computerworld and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) - SNW remains an unbiased and vendor agnostic event.
