Artweb.net Grows to Over 500 Artists.

Recently launched Fine Art Portal Artweb.net grows rapidly to include work by 500 professional artists from around the world.

CA (I-Newswire) July 5, 2012 - London, UK – A newlylaunched online fine art portal has seen phenomenal growth, quickly attracting the work of over 500 artists in just a few months since launching.

The curated collection has been brought together by an international panel, headed up by Emily Peterson (Lead Curator) and Catherine Higgs (ex-Christies and Philips de Pury), with technical guidance from Tech-background co-Founder Colin Mansell.

The art work included in this unique and rapidly growing online collection, represents some of the most interesting and original contemporary work available on the primary art market, all in one location.

The workrepresented is incredibly varied in both styles and subjects, including a large body of oil and acrylic paintings, as well as limited edition prints and fine art photography.

Artweb.net is busy breaking the traditional mold of the art market, by providing a huge selection of curated work, direct to buyers. This unique model allows art collectors direct access to the artist and 0% commissions, using a regular PayPal account.

“We believe that the internet represents a paradigm shift in the art market. Buyers want a wide choice of curated quality work, which we can offer on our limitless ‘virtual’ wall space. Artists want access to buyers but don’t want to pay a premium for it. We’ve married these two desires into one site,” says Colin Mansell (Co Founder and ex CEO at The Art Source).

He continues, “There are too many empty walls out there and too much great art collecting dust in artists’ studios. Galleries simply can’t get the reach that the online world offers. One of our artists in Ireland just sold a piece to a buyer in Mexico.”

At 500 member artists, the temptation is to stand still, but the team at Artweb.net sees this as just the beginning.

“We have seen a phenomenal response from artists and buyers alike and are hugely excited by what the future holds. At the current rate, we are on course to become the largest free curated fine art community in the world, and that’s something to get very excited about.”
