Arcplan’s Year in Review: BI Leader Continues to Expand Global Client & Partner Base

The year was marked by new client acquisitions, continued global expansion – including the launch of arcplan Asia – a slew of new product releases, and sustained recognition in The BI Survey 10.

A number of internationally renowned companies including OBI, Wacker Chemie, Dachser, and HORIBA chose arcplan solutions over the past year. Other long-time customers like Bayer, Aluminium Norf, Daimler, SMS Group, GAF Materials, Universal Leaf, Merrill Lynch, and Sodexo expanded their arcplan roll-outs to include dashboards, budgeting and planning applications, additional data sources, more user licenses, or even arcplan BI deployments within SharePoint.

Asia proved to be a particularly strong area for growth, as the company anticipated by establishing arcplan Asia in January 2011. Companies in Korea and China continue to back arcplan products through relationships with established partners Zalesia and Shenzhen Pulan, each of which signed more than two dozen new arcplan customers in 2011. This year also saw increased attendance at the second annual arc|planet Korea event, as well as arc|planet Germany – in its 8th year – which hosted its greatest number of attendees to date.

The arcplan partner network continued to grow beyond Asia, as high-profile global partnerships formed with Teradata and Simba Technologies alongside regional partnerships in Europe and the United States.

arcplan released a new version of its product suite in 2011 – arcplan 7 – which features enhancements to its popular platform arcplan Enterprise and its budgeting, planning, and forecasting solution arcplan Edge, which saw its largest deployment yet at OBI, Europe’s second-largest DIY retailer. This year also featured the release of arcplan Mobile, a mobile analytics solution for any smartphone or tablet PC that is free for the first 10 users, and arcplan’s newest BI search and collaboration solution, arcplan Engage, which aims to broaden BI’s reach company-wide to facilitate the information-sharing that leads to better decision-making.

In addition to these exciting product releases, The BI Survey 10, the world’s largest independent survey of BI users by the Business Application Research Center (BARC), named arcplan the most widely deployed third-party BI frontend for SAP BW for the seventh year in a row. arcplan was also confirmed as the market’s leading frontend for Oracle Essbase and IBM Cognos TM1, and the BI frontend with the broadest multidimensional data source access in customer organizations – ahead of 25 other platforms included in the study.
