Arborland Montessori Winter Recitals

Plummer Auditorium (I-Newswire) December 12, 2011 - Fullerton, CA – The Arborland Education and Youth Activity Center is going to hold its annual recitals on December 10, 12 and 14, 2011. The music recital will be held on Saturday, December 10, from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. It will be at the Arborland Academy of the Arts, located at 2111 Hughes Drive.

The gymnastics, dance and martial arts recital will be held on Monday, December 12, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. It will be at the Sunny Hills High School Performing Arts Center, located at 1801 Warburton Way.

The Montessori recital will be held on December 14, Wednesday, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. It will be at the Plummer Auditorium, located at 201 East Chapman Avenue.

The arts are an important part of the Arborland curriculum. Beginning at the toddler level, students are encouraged to participate in our numerous events where they can display their many talents. At Arborland, every student is a star.

According to Maria Montessori, the founder of Montessori education, once a person's basic needs are met, that person will look for other things that can enrich his or her life. Aside from education, the arts can further nourish a person's spirit as it helps in the person's development.

Learning to play a musical instrument helps one's concentration and dexterity. Dancing can help develop coordination and creativity. In fact, a student who is also involved in the arts can have a better grasp of academic subjects. The arts can also be viewed as an extension of language. Through them, the child can express their thoughts and feelings as well as they would through language. Cultural education definitely has many advantages.

Despite the current economy, Arborland has continued to advocate the importance of the arts. Without it, a child's education will be incomplete.
