Apple Devices Found in Tornado Aftermath Fixed and Returned

Normal Gadgets, a cell phone repair shop located in Bloomington, IL, has repaired and returned two Apple devices this week that were found in the aftermath of the recent tornando that devastated the community of Washington, IL.

In late November, Jackie Clifford brought into Normal Gadgets, the cellphone-smartphone-tablet repair shop based in Bloomington, an iPhone that she had found in the corn fields of Washington, IL. She had been volunteering there to help with the disaster, clean up & recovery efforts of a recent tornado. The device was covered in mud, was dead and had a cracked screen despite having a case on it. Ms. Clifford asked Normal Gadgets if there was anything that could be done in trying to locate the owner. Normal Gadgets assured her that all efforts would be made to do so.

In early December, Stan Davidson brought into Normal Gadgets, an iPad that had been inside the home of his parents in Washington, IL. The tornado had completely destroyed their house along with the three cars parked in the drive way. The iPad was found face down with a cracked screen and dents on the backside underneath debris. Mr. Davidson firmly believed that the device was no longer able to be repaired.

Both devices were repaired 100% successfully. While Normal Gadgets is working with Verizon to locate the owner of the iPhone, the iPad was returned to Mr. Davidson yesterday. "So many good people have stepped up and helped my parents in so many ways." said Stan Davidson. "This was another great example. Normal Gadgets went above and beyond - they didn't have to do this but they wanted to help." stated Davidson.

"We at Normal Gadgets understand the devastation that the recent tornado brought to our community of central Illinois. Over 100 homes were destroyed and families' lives were shaken." said Angie Ballantini from Normal Gadgets. "Our goal as a device repair shop is always be a community resource and good corporate steward. What better way than to repair these devices for free and return them to their owners." said Ballantini.
