Android Stream Media Player Downloads Exceed 100,000

The Stream Media Player, a new multimedia player with ability of play streaming video and audio from internet, has been downloaded from the Android Market for more than 100,000 times.

(I-Newswire) May 13, 2010 - The Stream Media Player application has been downloaded more than 100,000 times since its initial publishing 6 months ago on the Android Market. The Player was developed and released by Professional Software Associates, Inc. and can be installed at no cost on any Android phone.

The Android Stream Media Player is an application that provides an ability to view JPEG web cameras, watch Internet TV, and play locally stored files that contain Motion JPEG and H.264 RTSP streams widely supported by mobile devices. The application saves links to history for later recall and also contains pre-configured links to start easily.

Since its first release in late October 2009 there were seven releases of the product. The recent Pro version 2.1 is located at the Android Market and contains new features like ability to override aspect ratio, links sharing function, extended Internet Radio support. Today the Stream Media Player is available for downloading in two versions, Free and Pro. The Free version includes the same functionality of the Pro and includes the display of promotional banners.

A keen observer can see how fast the Android platform gain popularity in the telecommunication area month to month. While the Android initial release appeared 17 months ago, in October 2008, PSA started investigation and development activities on Android platform more than 2.5 years ago.
