Andrew Chan Departs TMS To Establish New Asia Executive Search Brand

After seven years Andrew Chan has announced he is leaving TMS Asia-Pacific to establish a new specialised executive search brand – ACI HR Solutions Limited.

Singapore City (I-Newswire) October 7, 2012 - The man acknowledged as one of the first Asia Pacific-based HR specialists to draw attention to what became known as ‘the war for talent’ in the regional hospitality and tourism sector, high profile TMS CEO Andrew Chan has announced he is leaving the company to establish a new specialised executive search brand – ACI HR Solutions Limited.

Speaking from his new Singapore base this week, Chan said after seven years helping to establish TMS as the premier hospitality and tourism recruitment name in the region, and beyond to Europe, the Middle East and North America, setting up ACI HR Solutions “just made sense.”

“While there have been market concerns over the regional economy’s performance in recent times, all the signs point towards the Asian market gathering momentum into 2013,” he said.

“So the time feels very right to be establishing a new business to take advantage of that impetus.”

Chan said it was his intention that ACI HR Solutions will not only play a part in helping to shape talent developments in the regional hospitality and tourism sector, his aim was to also see this new brand become the benchmark in HR Solutions covering recruitment, executive search and professional training.

“I am committed to unearthing and developing the next level of talent across Asia, as well as working with senior level management to help them reach the next stage of their careers,” he said.

One of the most respected names in his field, Australian-born Chan joined the company’s Singapore operation in 2005 after cutting his managerial teeth in the international airline and hotel sectors in both Australia and Singapore.

In regular demand as a presenter on the critical role HR plays across the international hospitality and tourism spectrum, Chan is acknowledged as one of the first Asia Pacific-based recruitment specialists to draw attention to what was to become a fully-fledged regional staffing crisis and one that still impacts the region to this day.

His accolades include being invited to address the PATA board on the role professional recruitment services play in helping to alleviate the regional tourism industry’s ongoing staffing crisis.

He is regularly invited to address graduates at the prestigious Cornell Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management in Singapore and today is considered a ‘first point of call’ expert and regularly requested to pen commentaries on HR issues affecting the industry on a global basis.
