The first revolt for separation of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh aroused in 1969 under the leadership of Marri Chenna Reddy.

Politics can be termed as an art or science where in a body of political ideologies combine to form an entity, like a state. This political entity further has its duty and responsibility to control and manage the internal and external affairs of a state with their political ideologies and methods.
Politics In India -The Indian politics has its long roots .It is the largest democracy in the world. India has the largest number of voters who practice their rights and cast their votes to select their representatives .The largest number of competing parties who stand for the war of election. With every passing year the candidates who stand for the election campaign increases in number. To go by the statistics in 1996 almost over 600 million people casted their votes and an average of more than 26 candidates fought for the positions for each 543 constituency seats.

In India the elections are held in various phases. The two major elections though are of the national level and of the state or regional levels. After which the national government is formed and the state government is formed with the top voting party being the ruling one and the Prime Minister being selected among its members in the national level and at the state level the Chief Minister. Elections are also held for the city, town and village councils.

The Indian political atmosphere like any other world politics have some distinctive issues on which the people of India mainly aims to check the working of these political parties .As India is the largest democracy so issues here are also many. Being a secular, democratic, socialistic, republic country there are many communities who have many voices with various issues. To highlight some of these issues like economical, social rights of some communities , Land disputes - like some demand a partition within a state and to get recognized as a separate state, the autonomy or autocratic practice of power of some culture within the Internal states.

With all these problems India stills smiles long ways as a single state upholding its social and democratic character. But the problems will always prevail and India will always act according to its constitutional rights to solve the issues.

Now let's take a glance at the regional politics of India namely the politics of Andhra Pradesh

The state of Andhra Pradesh was formed in 1953, the congress was the ruling party then. Congress in Andhra has a strong hold it has been winning elections for over 30 years. But the change in power or the rise of another strong power came up in 1980, with establishment of a regional party named as Telugu Desam Party (TDP) by one of the famous Telugu matinee idol Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao who was known or was famous as (NTR).

With slowly rising the success ladders the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won their first election in 1983. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) became the first ever non -congress chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Since then both TDP and Congress have been dominating the Andhra politics with either of the parties coming in power after a long tenure or term. At present it's the congress who is ruling and has the complete control over the state of affairs, with their elected Chief Minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy having the main authorities. Politics in Andhra Pradesh is dominated by major castes like the Reddys , the Kammas and the Kapus .

The main issue of disputes in Andhra Pradesh is "Telangana movement ". It's an issue which has been carried along for long time, the main aim of this movement is that formation of a separate Telangana state consisting of the northern districts of Andhra Pradesh. MLA's and MP's from the main region cutting across party lines have supported the movement, but it is widely opposed by MLA's and MP's from the Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions, who always strongly favor a united Andhra Pradesh.

The first revolt for separation of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh aroused in 1969 under the leadership of Marri Chenna Reddy. At that time congress had tried it hard to subdue it and kill the movement and they were successful enough at that time .But this ease the root cause of all the clashes then which hit hard on the Andhra politics , many lives were disturbed and is still disturbed in one way or the other. It has been a big blow to the generation of our times.

The Andhra Politics in 2004, the Congress party and the TRS had an alliance and they became one in considering about Telangana region with the promise of a separate Telangana state. TRS joined the coalition government in 2004 and was successful in making a separate Telangana state a part of the common minimum program (CMP). In September 2006, TRS withdrew support from their Congress-led coalition government.

However, once again, it was felt that the Congress party again withdrew themselves back from fulfilling the promises they made to the people of Telangana.

In December 2009, a bigger demand crept up, the demand for a separate Telangana state was being raised by all the four crore people of Telangana in unison. The TRS chief's fast-unto-death mission to free his land pressurized the Central government.

On the night of December 9, 2009, the Congress Party decided to accept the demand for Telangana and promised to further to make all the proceedings their after .

Telangana Rashtra Samithi's leader K Chandrasekhar Rao, who pressurized the Centre government to set a deadline for the formation of a separate Telangana state, thus ended his 11 day fast only to say that it has a been a great victory for them .And that all their revolts have been finally answered.

Factionism is another issue in Andhra politics, especially in the Rayalaseema region where it is a serious problem. Even today, many politicians or their families are associated with factionism, spending their valuable time and resources to retaliate with their opponents. There is also the problem of Naxalism in the state, especially in the Rayalaseema and Telangana regions.

Like Tamil Nadu, the film industry in the state has a high impact in the Andhra politics. Besides NTR, film stars like Chiranjeevi , Vijayashanti andMohan Babu among others have successfully made their mark in the politics of the state.
