America's Largest Co-ed 4-Person Beach Volleyball Event Gets Even Better

Smack Sportswear adds a Pro 4's division, Fashion and Music to 18th Annual Smackfest

Get ready for a day of amazing volleyball, bumping music, great food and beautiful people wrapped into a celebration you'll never forget. The 18th annual Smackfest is just around the corner!
Smack Sportswear has hosted Smackfest since 1994, celebrating the inception and spirit of the apparel company. The first Smackfest included only about 50 participants. Last year, participation climbed to over 1000, along with 5,000 spectators stacked along the sidelines - making Smackfest the largest coed 4-person beach volleyball tournament in the United States. Smack has plans to make the event better than ever!!
A new addition to Smackfest will be the Bud Light Pro 4's division. Top legends of the game will join with today's stars in an all-day battle - 8 teams, each consisting of 3 men and 1 women, will compete for the first-ever title. Team Captains, including 2000 Gold Medalist Eric Fonoimoana, NVL Owner Albert Hannemann, Jose Loiola, Mike Lambert, Stein Metzger, Scott Ackatubby, Anjihno, and Matt Fuerbringer (who just missed going to this year's Olympics) will draft from a pool of 16 men and 8 women. Draftees include NVL Baltimore and Cuervo Belmar champs Casey Patterson and Ryan Dougherty, 3-Time Olympian Holly McPeak and 2012 Cuervo Florida and Belmar Champ Jenny Kropp. Bud Light is partnering with Smack to offer $10,000 in prize money. The semis and finals will be streamed live on the web, as well as posted on Smack's Youtube channel.
In addition to the top notch volleyball, music and fashion shows will round out the day's agenda. Returning sponsor, Red Bull, will supply the tunes. Their line-up of top notch west coast DJ's will keep the energy level high and the crowd pumped. Complementing the beats, Sharkeez Fashion Industry Night will host multiple fashion shows throughout the day. Some of the hottest models in Southern California will be strutting their stuff in summer apparel from Smack, USA Beach Volleyball, the National Volleyball League and more.
Smack CEO, and Smackfest organizer Bill Sigler states, "I love the 4-person game - there's tons of action with great rallies. Add in the music and fashion and you have Smackfest ... then add the best players in the world and you have the best So Cal lifestyle experience in the world. I hope to take this experience to cities like Chicago, Dallas, and the east coast in the years to come."
