Altus Dynamics Wins A Prized New Customer In The Canadian National Exhibition Association
Altus Dynamics announced today that the Canadian National Exhibition Association (CNEA) will be implementing its Financial Management and Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, based on the Microsoft Dynamics platform.
Toronto (I-Newswire) March 15, 2013 - Founded 134 years ago, the Canadian National Exhibition is Canada’s largest annual fair. The governing body, the Canadian National Exhibition Association (CNEA) focuses on the production and management of the annual fair.
The CNEA will be transitioning on April 1, 2013 from being an agency of the City of Toronto to a fully independent business. As part of this transition process, the CNEA has been acquiring the tools to plan, co-ordinate and manage the fair and thereby set about searching for potential vendors who offer the solutions they required. The culmination of this effort was a competitive proposal process which came down to providers of two possible solutions – Microsoft Dynamics and SAP Business One.
“During the product demonstrations, CNEA staff were impressed by the depth of the resources at Altus Dynamics and their commitment to have the financial system operational by our April 1, 2013 deadline.” comments Paul Egli, CFO for the CNEA.
In a first for Altus Dynamics, The CNEA will be deploying their Altus Dynamics NAV Suite in a Private Cloud hosting environment as opposed to the more traditional on-premise method. Altus Dynamics have partnered with Watserv (www.watserv.com), an Ontario-based hosting provider for the service. “We’re very excited by this project. Cloud deployments have traditionally been the domain of our CRM Projects, but doing it with NAV opens up a whole new world of opportunity in terms of flexibility for the client” says Kelly Hagen, VP Client Services at Altus Dynamics.
The overall project will be phased with finance and HR to go live in Spring 2013 and the Dynamics CRM implementation hot on its heels. Once fully implemented, CNEA will benefit from a single unified solution, bringing together disparate systems and work processes into a single solution with significant improvements in financial management and reporting. “The CNE is a national institution. As such we’re delighted to be able to help the CNEA continue to improve and grow the event, not only in term of the enjoyment of the attendees but also as a contributor to the Ontario economy.” comments Colin Dickinson, Managing Partner at Altus Dynamics. “And on a personal level, I can’t wait to bring the kids to The Ex in 2013!”
About The Canadian National Exhibition Association
The CNEA’s primary function is the planning and organising of the CNE fair. Founded in 1879 as the Toronto Industrial Exhibition, the CNE is Canada’s largest fair and one of the top ten fairs in North America. In 2012 it attracted 1.39 million attendees. On average, it generates an economic impact of $58.6 million for the Greater Toronto Area and $80 million for the province of Ontario each year. Approximately 70% of the CNE’s overall budget is invested in jobs, and it is a major employer of young people, with a significant number of those coming from priority neighborhoods in the City of Toronto. For the past three consecutive fairs, the CNE has been awarded Eco Logo certification, confirming it as the "greenest" fair in North America, and the most "environmentally friendly" large scale event on the continent.
