Alternate Access® President Channels Inner Artist

Raleigh, N.C. (I-Newswire) August 18, 2011 - Adrienne K. Lumpkin, president of Alternate Access®, a leading provider of Voice over IP phone systems and related communication solutions, is getting in touch with her inner artist by serving on the Board of Directors for the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County.

“Given my longtime interest and volunteer involvement in education and the arts,” Lumpkin explained, “I am thrilled to be working with United Arts – an organization that brings so much arts education to our schools and the public."

Beginning a three-year term, Lumpkin was installed on July 1, 2011 along with 10 other new board members who, along with existing board members, represent a variety of businesses, industries and communities. According to the United Arts Council, “These members were elected to the board because they possess creative ideas and unique skills that will help United Arts build upon fundraising and community initiatives to benefit the arts throughout Wake County.”

A longtime art lover, Lumpkin has served on the board for and volunteered at Raleigh Little Theater, as well as being a member and patron of the N.C. Museum of Art over the years. Lumpkin looks forward to supporting the United Arts Council’s mission, particularly in a role of enhancing arts in education.

“Each of my own children has taken on different artistic interests during their journeys through the public school system,” explained Lumpkin. “Seeing the impact the arts have had on them has solidified my belief in education of the whole child – combining core courses with the arts. I am excited to help the United Arts Council continue their programming in Wake County schools and for the public at large.”
