Studio looks to Tucker’s Experience to Head its Film and TV Operations

Glendale, CA (I-Newswire) February 1, 2012 - Allied Artists has today announced the appointment of Rick Tucker as Vice-President of Production for the Allied Artists Film Group. U.S. based Allied Artists Film Group is the umbrella company over the iconic motion picture brands - Allied Artists Pictures and Monogram Pictures. Peter Liapis, President of the Allied Artists Film Group, stated, “Rick is a hands-on producer with decades of experience in just about every facet of the film making process. We are very excited to have someone with his experience heading up our production division.”

Mr. Tucker served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1973. He graduated from Valley and Pierce Colleges in Southern California and immediately began working his way up the movie industry ladder.

When Lorimar bought MGM Studios in the mid 70’s, Mr. Tucker coordinated moving the production equipment from MGM to Lorimar and went on to run the back lot on such productions as “Dallas”, “Midland Heights”, “Knots Landing” and many other successful TV productions. By 1985 Mr. Tucker had opened his own film production company, Big Kid Productions, and has been producing movies ever since.

David Richter, Senior Vice President of the Allied Artists Film Group, added: “Mr. Tucker has thrived in the entertainment field for over 40 years as a skilled technician and producer and we are excited to have him aboard.” From 1991 through 1994, Tucker was part of a team that won three Emmys for their contributions on “Home Improvement”. He went on to form Brick Enterprises, a full service grip and lighting company and eventually expanded his facility to include four sound stages under the name Shades of Light.

In 2003 Tucker formed “Tucker Family Productions”, producing a pilot for Warner Brothers called “Zolar” and several feature films including “Game Box 10”, “Stolen Moments of September”, “Black Friday I &II”. He is currently in pre-production on the film “The Little Tyke-oon."

Kim Richards, CEO of Allied Artists Int'l, parent of Allied Artists Film Group, added: “We feel very confident having someone like Rick, with a life-time of film making experience, overseeing the production arm of our film division. He is a great addition to our production team.”
