New York (I-Newswire) October 13, 2012 - Resident Evil: Damnation is the latest and second CG movie by Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment based in Japan after its predecessor Resident Evil: Degeneration. Unlike US live action movies, those 2 CG movies are in line with what goes in the video games in terms of both story telling and character development.

According to the director Makoto Kamiya and producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, they decided to feature Leon as the main character again after his role in Degeneration because he is the best of all Resident Evil game characters. They also wanted to have a unique setting of Eastern Europe instead of US which the fans are so well familiar with in the game series.

Besides the sequel, it is also the prequel to the upcoming video game Resident Evil 6. But since the director and cast have never been to Eastern Europe, they decided to go there, see and record what it looks like before producing this movie.

Other than that, they also wanted Leon to go through tough times like how he went through in Resident Evil 4 when he had a tough time dealing with hordes of violet villagers, cultists and commandos in order to rescue the President’s daughter. And also being in captivity and nearly killed on few occasions.

Storywise, Leon’s mission this time is to investigate and confirm the use of Bio-Organic Weapons or BOWs in Eastern Slav Republic. They are the very same weapons created by Umbrella Corporation that resulted in T-virus infected zombies and various creatures throughout Resident Evil series.

Yet shortly after his arrival, he is informed by his mission support Ingrid Hunnigan that his mission has been aborted and he is ordered to evaculate the country immediately. But Leon refuses as he is determined to verify and put a stop to those weapons once and for all if the rumours are confirmed to be true.

As compared to Degeneration, Resident Evil Damnation is much more improvised with great CG framework, storyline and full-time American cast to play the characters.
