Alice DiMicele is poised to release her latest CD "Lucky Dogs'" on May 20th. The CD is DiMicele's 11th recording on her Alice Otter label and is produced by Rob Siefert Gage (The Eels, Porno for Pyros, Mike Watt, Speed of Darkness).
Online, May 18, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Alice DiMicele is poised to release her latest CD "Lucky Dogs'" on May 20th. The CD is DiMicele's 11th recording on her Alice Otter label and is produced by Rob Siefert Gage (The Eels, Porno for Pyros, Mike Watt, Speed of Darkness). CD release shows are scheduled in May and June in DiMicele's homestate of Oregon as well as Northern California. DiMicele will be touring to support the album, summer and fall of 2011. Some of the summer festivals currently confirmed are Conscious Culture Festival (Tonasket, WA), Mateel Summer Arts Festival (Benbow, CA), Outdoorz Fest (Crescent City, CA), Trinity Tribal Stomp (Junction City, CA), Oregon Country Fair (Veneta, OR) and Black Sheep Family Reunion (Tidewater, OR) with more shows on the horizon.
On "Lucky Dogs" DiMicele is backed by her band that includes noted musicians Jeff Pevar on guitar, mandolin, lap steel, dobro and ukelele (Ray Charles, Rickie Lee Jones, CPR, Jazz Is Dead), Damian Erskine on Bass (Peter Erskine Trio, Gino Vannelli), Russ Kleiner on Drums (Curtis Salgado, Tony Furtado, Sam Howard), Mikey Stevens on Trumpet and Flugelhorn (Maynard Ferguson, Gypsy Soul) and Duke Davis on Saxophones (State of Jefferson). DiMicele elaborates "I called some of my favorite musicians together, who I knew had great chemistry with myself and each other. Many of the songs are exactly as we played them live. The vibe of the players really comes through."
The record contains 15 original songs including a remake of her classic tune "It's A Miracle" from the 1989 release of the same name. As DiMicele states "Songs are like wine, sometimes they need to age a bit to release their true flavor. It was fun to re-do 'It's A Miracle' as it has been consistent in my set list for over 22 years and has settled in a way like my voice and guitar playing."
Throughout a 23 year music career DiMicele has been playing her unique blend of Americana, groove folk, and acoustic soul to crowds across the United States. Alice's vocal prowess, acoustic groove guitar style, original songs, and soulful delivery are well known & respected. She has shared billings with musical luminaries such as Bonnie Raitt, Joan Baez, David Grisman, Steve Winwood, Michael Franti, JJ Cale, and Arlo Guthrie.
