The Co-operative in the UK have chosen Acorn Printing to print and supply their Charity T shirts designed by Pete Fowler for the Cree Nations fight against tar sands

(I-Newswire) March 9, 2010 - The Beaver Lake Cree Nation - an indigenous community in Alberta, Canada - has seen its traditional lands degraded by large scale tar sands developments in Alberta, Canada. They have launched a legal challenge against the Canadian and Albertan governments, which we view as perhaps the last and best chance we have to stop the expansion of these toxic fuels.

As well as risking runaway climate change, expanding tar sands developments in Alberta, Canada, are bringing about a local ecological disaster with profound consequences for indigenous communities such as the Beaver Lake Cree Nation.

Not willing to stand by and let this happen, the Beaver Lake Cree have launched a legal challenge to stop further tar sands developments within its ancestral lands, taking on not just the governments of Alberta and Canada, but also the world’s largest oil companies.
