Using an approach that has raised many eyebrows within the affiliate marketing and people search industries, Acme continues to give away its people search engines for free. Given that companies offering the same or similar service charge it begs the question why?
Well it appears Acme are hoping that this strategy will pay off in the long term as people brand their engine and monetize it. Acme hopes it’s system that includes 9 income streams that can be integrated in the search engine will eventually convince people to join and pay the $29.95 monthly fee. However this remains optional and the engine is free and works performing as well or even out performing many paid rivals. To date 350,00 engines have been given away each with a database of 300,000 and which is updated regularly.
