Academy Class’ free Meetup group, Creative Class, will be holding an Adobe InDesign workshop with Mark Gatter on September 5 in London. The session will be the eighth monthly meetup hosted by the group.

London (I-Newswire) August 23, 2011 - LONDON, UK — Creative Class, Academy Class’ free Meetup group, will be holding its eighth workshop on September 5, 2011 at The Theodore Bullfrog in London. Led by Academy Class’ own training instructor Mark Gatter, the workshop will be an introductory session on Adobe InDesign, a popular application used to create projects for print and web publications. The session is organized by Mark Young on behalf of Academy Class’ monthly taster sessions of its more popular training courses.

September’s upcoming workshop, called ‘Making InDesign Interactive’, will serve as a 101 on Adobe InDesign, aimed not only at beginners to the program but also at pros in need of a refresher on software basics. The theme of the session will be a practical look at how you can use the software to produce more interactive documents. The focus will be on InDesign’s two main output formats—PDF and SWF—and how they can be made more immersive with animations and interactive elements. Attendees will be tutored on four topics, namely: Creating Buttons, Adding a Movie, Adding Page Transitions, and Adding Animation.

At the helm of this Creative Class session will be Academy Class’ Mark Gatter. As a training instructor, he trains students in high-end graphic design courses, backed by over 30 years of experience in commercial printing and professional graphic design. He also holds the title of Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Flash. One of his training courses is based on one of his books, Production for Print, aimed at helping professionals understand the requirements for commercial print jobs.

Creative Class is an effort of its organizer Mark Young, one of Academy Class’ two founders and managing directors. Organized using Meetup, a social networking site for hosting offline group meetings, these monthly sessions are aimed at giving free tasters of Academy Class’ full training courses. ‘Making InDesign Interactive’, beginning at 6:45 PM on September 5, will also be a way to casually get together with like-minded peers over drinks at the session’s location, The Theodore Bullfrog in Charing Cross, London. Interested individuals may become a member at no charge by signing up at meetup.com/creative-class.
