A Timely Screed Install for the Rolex Flagship Store At One Hyde Park

High Wycombe (I-Newswire) June 27, 2011 - The installation of 265 sq metres of FlexiDry F1 – 7 day dry screed – had to be completed over a weekend with the bulk materials only being able to be delivered from late on the Friday afternoon with the delivery truck having to be being transported three floors within the building in a 30 tonne vehicle lift.

Strict delivery slots had to be met by the delivery trucks which with the London traffic in this area proved a challenge in itself. Working closely with the Healthy and Safety team on site at the residential complex CSC Screeding completed the job successfully and installed the screed on time.

As FlexiDry is a low dosage, high concentrated liquid additive, it is easily transported and so was just able to be carried by hand on to the site by the screed technicians.

The luxury watchmaker’s flagship London store at the development, billed as London's most expensive residential complex, has filled the second retail lot at just under 3,000 sq ft with the first having been let to McLaren to house its flagship showroom.

The residential development is said to be the most expensive in the world, with prices averaging about £6,000 a square foot, and is serviced by the neighbouring Mandarin Oriental hotel which can be accessed via an underground passageway.

Created on the site of the former 1950s office building Bowater House in Knightsbridge, One Hyde Park contains 80 apartments within four pavilions overlooking Hyde Park and its expanse of greenery, lakes and fountains. The buildings have shared features including a cinema, a 21m swimming pool, saunas, a gym, a golf simulator and a wine cellar. There are eye-scanners in the lifts and panic rooms for added security.

Unlike some other fast drying floor screeds, FlexiDry screeds do not require curing under polythene for seven days immediately after they have been installed. Not only does this reduce the total drying time of the floor by a week, it removes the associated H&S risks giving rise to trips and falls. This also means a second visit to site to clear the polythene from the area is not necessary saving costs and the environmental impact of the disposal of the polythene.

This reduces the potential for damage caused by such heavy traffic on site and minimises the requirement for protecting the screed saving further costs and also reducing the risks of remedial action.
