Times are tough and there are a couple of business owners who are even tougher. On the track, these entrepreneurs are ruthless roller girls, skating fast and hitting hard. Wicked Skatewear has been in business since April 2009 and currently sponsors 170 of the 300 leagues worldwide. Their offer to the roller derby community is to provide uniforms, merchandise and shenanigans that will survive skating and hitting all while looking fabulous. Featured on Gene Simmons Family Jewels and The Ellen DeGeneres show, Bethany “B-Train” Semeiks and Suzy “Strychnine” Dancisin maintain the Wicked company culture on and off the track by attending roller derby games, tournaments and events around the nation to build the brand and meet clients to find out what specifically it is that they want to wear while skating.

Iron Doll Clothing began making custom uniforms for the Los Angeles Derby Dolls since 2006. Rachel “Iron Maiven” Piplica has a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and offers one of a kind uniforms for the modern roller girl. Staring in Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut Whip It, Piplica also knows what skaters need on the track because she has been captain of the Dolls Tough Cookies also since 2006.

Uniforms created by Iron Doll Clothing and Wicked Skatewear will be featured on Oprah’s “Step Out of Your Box” Challenge episode airing November 4, 2009. Not only does the union of the two companies make the women in the episode look amazing, they are flooded with requests from leagues around the world to do the same thing at affordable prices.
