A New Era Is About to Begin For the Ford Mustang
Ford Motor Company's iconic muscle car reaches its 50th anniversary, and the 2015 Ford Mustang will feature an all-new design inspired by its racing heritage.
Online, December 24, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Ford announced at the beginning of December that the next-generation Ford Mustang would arrive for the 2015 model year, and Terry's Ford of Peotone is sharing the news with their customers. The 2015 Ford Mustang has undergone a complete exterior overhaul from the ground up according to Ford's executive director of design.
Several notable feature changes that the new Ford Mustang has undergone include a lower, wider stance with a roof height that's been reduced, as well as widened rear fenders. This provides a lower center of gravity and increased aerodynamic capability. A sleeker overall profile is enabled by a steeper sloped windshield and rear glass. Mustang convertible drivers are in for a treat, as the standard cloth top is multilayered for optimum insulation and a quiet cabin.
The interior of the 2015 Ford Mustang has also gone through a design change. The front console features an aviation-inspired look with large, easy-to-read instrumentation and tactile switches that power the available Selectable Drive Modes.
From a performance standpoint, the 2015 Ford Mustang is slated to be the most nimble stallion Ford has ever produced. Between the upgraded standard 3.7L V6 engine that will put out 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of peak torque, and the available 5.0L V8 engine that's capable of 420 hp and 390 lb-ft, a new EcoBoost engine will join the powertrain lineup. The 2.3L EcoBoost will use direct injection, variable cam timing, and turbocharging in order to provide thrilling performance with segment-leading fuel efficiency. Power ratings for this engine are set at 305 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.
Standard technology that will make an appearance within the 2015 Ford Mustang include the SYNC infotainment system with MyKey, push-button start, and intelligent access.
