monaco (I-Newswire) December 22, 2013 - Axor's new products generated lots of interest and are on trend
Axor looks back at the successful launch of its new products at the trend-setting 2013 Cersaie trade fair. Architects, bathroom professionals and design enthusiasts showed keen interest in the new Axor ShowerProducts at the key international innovation exchange for bathroom fittings and ceramics in Bologna. It was the first time that these shower products, which were developed in conjunction with Swedish designer trio Front and Japanese studio Nendo, were presented to the public. During the last week in September, the Axor stand in the design-oriented Hall 21 attracted many visitors over a five-day period. The innovative nature of the new shower products received a positive response, as did the design. The designer brand's new products also proved to be in line with current trade fair trends.
More significance is being placed on homeliness and on sensual design concepts: in the form of soft, organically inspired designs and in combining the bathroom with other living areas. The Axor LampShower designed by Nendo, which features the fusion of light and water and is magically turned into a furnishing accessory due to its specific shape, is totally in keeping with this. Other manufacturers at the 2013 Cersaie, which was fully booked with around 900 exhibitors, focused on the feeling of warmth given off by wood. Wash bowls in familiar, round-bodied shape are also on trend. When it comes to tiles, traditional and playful patterns add specific accents to the bathroom. Haptics play an important role in contributing to sensual enjoyment. The trade fair therefore included plenty of mosaic reliefs and velvety matt surfaces.
The Axor ShowerProducts from Sofia Lagerkvist, Charlotte von der Lancken, and Anna Lindgren, who make up designer trio Front, are consistent with a continued development in bathroom design, which was clearly in evidence at the trade fair. While the shower products from Front Design play around with industrial aesthetics, other bathroom fittings highlighted the contrast between metal - varnished or polished - and the purely natural appearance of wood or a strictly technically-inspired, cool design. Both trends highlight the range of current bathroom design, which is becoming a lifestyle component.
This year the Cersaie trade fair attracted around 100,000 trade visitors and design enthusiasts, 40 percent of whom came from abroad. Its venue, Bologna, is the hub of the Italian tile industry, and is also home to lots of famous bathroom manufacturers. The trade fair is accompanied by a professional programme of lectures on architecture and design.
