A Hispanic Lawyer Among the Best Lawyers in Palm Beach and Martin Counties

West Palm Beach, Florida (I-Newswire) December 16, 2011 - Attorney Rafael J. Roca was the only Hispanic recognized from dozens of lawyers listed as the best of Palm Beach and Martin County. The magazine, Palm Beach Illustrated published a long list of “the most prominent lawyers” in May of 2011. LexisNexis Matindale-Hubell created the list where Roca was recognized. He was the only Hispanic representation.

Rafael Roca was born in Holguín, Cuba and arrived in Miami in 1961 when his parents left the island. “I’m a first generation immigrant. This is an honor and a privilege for me. I’m very grateful to God for being the only Hispanic among a long list. I am proud and also inspired to improve so that I can serve my community better”, said Roca who studied at Florida State University and St. Thomas University.

“I went to law school because I’m passionate about justice and there’s no doubt that in future generations we need to focus on education. It doesn’t matter what you study, studying opens many doors in our lives. We need to remember that knowledge is ours and that nobody can take that from us. I have used this as an inspiration and motivation. As the Jose Marti quote says ‘to be educated is the only way to be free’”, said Roca.

Rafael J. Roca was sworn in as a lawyer in 1988. In 2004 he was president of the Palm Beach County Trial lawyers Association. “My biggest satisfaction comes from helping people that are injured” said Roca who specializes in defending people that have been injured or have suffered accidents.
