Cardero Resource Corp. (Cardero) is a Canada-based, junior mineral exploration company. The Company is engaged in assessing, acquiring interests in and exploring of mineral exploration properties, primarily those it considers to be prospective for gold, copper and iron. During the fiscal year ended October 31, 2009 (fiscal 2009), the Company is primarily focused on consummating the sale of the Pampa de Pongo Iron deposit, promoting the Pampa el Toro Iron Sands program for the production of iron ore concentrate to serve the needs of the People’s Republic of China, and formulating and commencing the drilling programs for the Baja IOCG, Longnose and TiTac properties and the Phase I exploration program on the Organullo property. During fiscal 2009, the Company completed the sale of Pampa de Pongo Iron deposit to Nanjinzhao Group Co. Ltd. In June 2010, it acquired 49.5% interest in Coalhunter Mining Corporation.
