Beer In The Sun Kickstarter Campaign Launches

Alphabet Media launch the most ambitious data mapping project on Kickstarter so far. This project will ensure you can always enjoy a drink the in the sunshine!

London (I-Newswire) February 8, 2013 - The Beer In the Sun Kickstarter project was launched on 5th Feb with the aim of making city dweller's summer social lives better by finding them somewhere to have a drink in the sunshine.

Alphabet Media hope to raise enough money on the Kickstarter crowd funding platform to map the sun's position in relation to places where people go for drinks at any time of the day. This data will feed beerinthesun.com and the associated mobile app to give users the ability to find the nearest pub in the sunshine at any given time.

Alphabet Media have identified the problem of finding a pub after work in a busy city that has lots of high rise buildings that is actually in the sun. It's often the case that the sun shines on a bar or pub for just a limited time during the summer so Alphabet plan to use data mapping to provide people with a solution via a free website and mobile app on both Apple iOS and Android platforms.

Alphabet Media are seeking to raise funding through Kickstarter to enable the project to go live at the start of this summer (2013). They are looking to complete the mapping of London in the UK with Manhattan and Brooklyn kicking off the US leg of the data mapping project if they reach their stretch goals.

The project runs until 7th March 2013 and its first 36 hours raised 5% of its funding goal target.
