Olive Tree Initiative At Berkeley To Host Concert For Peace
Olive Tree Initiative (OTI) at Berkeley will host a concert for peace on February 10th at 7:30PM in the Wheeler Auditorium at UC Berkeley. The concert is titled, “My Favorite Enemy: Voices for Change Concert.”
Berkeley, CA (I-Newswire) February 6, 2013 - The event is co-sponsored by ASUC Senate, SUPERB, Universal Love and Peace, UC Berkeley Model United Nations, the UC Jazz Ensemble, and the Offices of Student Affairs and Equity and Inclusion.
This unique event, opened by the UC Berkeley Jazz Ensemble and Universal Love and Peace Band will feature My Favorite Enemy, an unlikely collaboration between top selling and influential Israeli, Palestinian, Jordanian, Norwegian and American songwriters and recording artists. These amazing artists have recently performed for world leaders at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC.
My Favorite Enemy began collaborating in 2009 as part of a broader endeavor called Middle East Program, MEP. MEP was founded in 2002 with the mission to build meaningful, long-term relationships between leaders from all sectors of society. My Favorite Enemy bridges the traditional musical influences of the Middle East with contemporary pop and rock songwriting and production to create something truly unique and inspiring. With lyrics in Arabic, Hebrew and English, the group offers tangible proof that music truly is the world's universal language.
