6 Months to the Malibu International Marathon 2010 Edition

(I-Newswire) June 9, 2010 - (Malibu, California) Registration is now open for the 2010 Edition of the Malibu International Marathon to be held on November 14th, 2010, in Malibu, California. This race has been tagged the “Run to Paradise”, a course between beautiful mountain cliffs and views of the Pacific Ocean.
Now is the best time for registered runners to start training for their half and full marathons. Forever Runners, the organizer of the Malibu International Marathon has selected Speed Fleet and Diaz Human Performance as the official coaching and training program of the event.
On race day, the marathoners will begin their 26.2 mile journey at the Camarillo Airport at 7 a.m. They will run through the flat farmlands of Ventura County with views of the Santa Monica Mountains. At mile 10, the athletes will run through the "keyway to the coast," a rock passageway to the Pacific Ocean. The remainder of the course is along the legendary Pacific Coast Highway with breathtaking views of the great Pacific. The half marathon is the last half of the marathon course. The finish line is at the famous Zuma Beach, where athletes are welcome to run straight into the refreshing ocean. Race organizers are giving away beach towels at the finish line to encourage athletes to sit down, relax and enjoy the beauty of the beaches of Malibu.
Event directors and sponsors are striving to make this an environmentally friendly race. Sponsors for this marathon include ZICO Pure Coconut Water, Event Catalyst, The Sound 100.3, and Lava Gel.
Proceeds of the event will be going to charities including Christopher’s Haven, Malibu Green Machine, and the Malibu Boys & Girls Club.
Registration is available online at www.malibumarathon.com. Current registration prices for the event are $109 for the marathon and $75 for the half marathon. Malibu International Marathon is a Boston Qualifier.
