Colorado (I-Newswire) June 21, 2011 - Greeley, Colorado -- Crystal Despain, Colorado artist, will be giving away one original work of art each week for 52 weeks.

“Painting may not do much to cure world hunger or fight cancer, but it's what I do. So, in an effort to add my few drops to the ocean of human generosity, I'll be giving away one free original work of art every week for a year!”

At the end of 2011 Crystal will have an exhibition documenting the journey and featuring each of the 52 pieces and their stories. After which the paintings will be taken home or shipped to their new owners.

Interested people are instructed to send in stories and photos. Each week she picks one that inspires her and she paints it. She then documents each painting and its story on a blog, www.52WeeksOfFreeArt.com.

About Crystal Despain

Crystal feels lucky to be a native of Northern Colorado where she continues to live with her wonderful family. As a "stay-at-home" mother of four very young, active boys, she feels uncommonly blessed to be able to paint on a regular basis. It is a passion that keeps her engaged and challenged. It helps keeps her sane in "mommy hood", and as a wife and mother she finds daily inspiration for her work.
