Taipei (I-Newswire) October 3, 2012 - 4ipnet, Inc., a networking device provider for manageable, reliable and secure wireless broadband access, today released its WHG711 Secure WLAN Controller with Gigabit Ethernet and Combo SFP ports for telecom-grade network operation. To accommodate large-scale, high-density users, WHG 711 is built-in with 15,000 local and 15,000 on-demand accounts, and capable of centrally managing up to 500 4ipnet access points, it supports external RADIUS and EAP-SIM authentication to bridge technical incompatibility between Wi-Fi and GSM networks, creating a seamless Wi-Fi experience for subscribers. It further brings in the concept of Service Zones, allowing one Controller to manage multiple franchised hotspots at the same time.

WHG711 comes with two Gigabit and two Combo SFP ports to support optical fiber backbone, providing sufficient internet bandwidth and making multimedia services come true on wireless local networks for home entertainment or business applications. As a large number of users move around, it is essential to maintain, but limit, access to their authorized network resources. For that purpose, WHG711 not only enforces role-based access and bandwidth policies on each user and access point, but also supports multiple authentication methods such as POP3, LDAP, RADIUS, Windows Domain, and SIP registrar for VoIP services, all of which can run simultaneously on different networks.

For rental properties: WHG711 offers an integrated solution with tiered Internet access service offerings. Coupled with 4ipnet managed access points, it enables adequate coverage throughout the interior of each tenant's unit; meanwhile, the facility manager or building administrator can easily issue Internet access accounts to tenants or visitors stopping by. Speaking of visitor-based wireless access, WHG711 is equipped with on-demand account generator, customizable billing plans, and online self-service account purchase by credit card. It provides efficient and effective network management to retain current residents or customers through high levels of satisfaction, and to create new revenue streams.

For hotels or resorts: WHG711 enables hotels and resorts to add Internet access charges to the room bill through billing integration with hotel PMS (Property Management System). With WHG711, the hotel guest not only can surf the Internet by wire or wireless with one set of account and password, but is free to choose the billing option that best fits his/her need. For those who use external RADIUS to authenticate, WHG711 can also work with the existing RADIUS server to support central billing. When hotspot venues want to share the same user account database, WHG711 is capable of running site-to-site VPN tunnels to secure information flows between different locations.
