More than 250 business and technology professionals attend the 2nd Annual Great Lakes Business Intelligence & Big Data Summit in Troy, Michigan.
Online, March 20, 2014 (Newswire.com) - More than 250 business and technology professionals from across the mid-west area came together for the 2nd Annual Great Lakes Business Intelligence (BI) and Big Data Summit on March 13, 2014. The event, hosted by WIT, gave attendees the opportunity to learn about proven best practices, discover the latest innovative solutions, and network with top technology and business executives.
The Summit kicked off with a memorable keynote from Rebecca D. Costa, Sociobiologist, and author of "The Watchman's Rattle." Ms. Costa set the tone of the Summit with her captivating discussion on "The Cautionary Side of Big Data."
After the opening keynote, attendees were given the chance to choose between 15 sessions across three tracks composed of business case studies, and technology vendor presentations. The Summit speaker lineup was comprised of major thought-leaders in the industry from leading companies located across the nation. Some of the subjects that were covered at the Summit included real-world BI and Big Data case studies, legal issues, process and governance considerations for Big Data, and innovations in BI technology.
The Summit closed with an empowering keynote by Gary Robinson, Program Director for IBM's Big Data organization who spoke on "Tools for Battling Complexity in the Modern World." Then, several lucky attendees walked away as winners of the raffles that were conducted by participating sponsors.
