2012 Urban Street Symposium To Be Held In Chicago

San Antonio, TX (I-Newswire) June 16, 2012 - The theme at this year's ITE Midwestern District and TRB 4th Urban Street Symposium is “My Street, Your Street, Our Street: Developing Livable Transportation Solutions.” It is being held in Chicago and the symposium takes place from June 24 to 27, 2012, at the Chicago Mart Plaza Holiday Inn.
Several groups and organizations with an interest in transportation solutions will be participating, including the AASHTO Technical Committee for Geometric Design, the TRB 4th Urban Street Symposium, and the Midwest section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
Events are still being planned but will include a variety of workshops, discussions and lectures, as well as small group sessions and tours with a technical focus. Topics addressed will include traffic safety and calming, urban street design, and urban street visualization and simulation.
Various products designed to provide transportation solutions will be present, including speed measuring devices and programs, software designed to analyze traffic patterns and traffic counting systems. Vendors represented will include JAMAR Technologies, Brown Transportation, Acyclica and CountingCars.com.
