2012 Fox Seeds Winners Static In The Stars Return To Toronto For 2 Shows At Canadian Music Week 2013
Up and coming Vancouver based rock band Static in the Stars brings their electrifying live show back to Toronto for 2 showcases during Canadian Music Week 2013
Vancouver (I-Newswire) March 5, 2013 - It’s been a crazy year for Static in the Stars. They started off by being chosen as one of the winners of the prestigious Fox Seeds contest put on by 99.3 The Fox in Vancouver. Since then their single “WE ARE” produced by Tommy Mac (Hedley) has received over 270 reported spins on Canadian Radio, the video has been added to rotation on Much Music/MuchLOUD, and it was shortlisted from over 2,800 submissions to be one of 6 options to be the new entrance song for the Vancouver Canucks. In addition they secured a number of high profile opening slots including Steel Panther, I Mother Earth, The Rival Sons and Monster Truck.
Now they carry on that momentum as they return to Toronto for two Canadian Music Week Showcases.
“Hearing Static in the Stars between Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters sounds totally natural on the air and listeners love it. Undeniably catchy, melodic rock that’s a perfect fit for any modern rock station. We’re the lucky ones that they are Fox Vancouver Seeds winners.”
- Cory Price 99.3 THE FOX
Described by noted radio personality Alan Cross as sounding like “The Trews on super overdrive”, Static in the Stars have been on a steady rise. The band’s current EP titled “Kings of Last Call”, was produced by Tommy Mac from multiplatinum recording artists Hedley, engineered and mixed by Juno nominated Dean Maher (Elton John, AC/DC, Slayer, Rise Against, Chevelle, Atreyu) and mastered by Chris Potter (Sarah MacLachlan, Run DMC, The Cranberries).
Known for an energetic, and interactive live show, Static in the Stars continue to increase their profile with a number of head turning festival showcases at CMW, NXNE, Indie Week and Junofest. This live show has taken them across Canada with upcoming plans to expand their touring into the United States and eventually Europe.
“Static in the Stars blast right out of the garage and into your stereo at a ferocity best experienced with your volume knob cranked. The Vancouver-based quintet plays loud stadium-ready rock n’roll with huge guitars and soaring vocals.”
- Ben Conoley – Canadian Musician Magazine
