11-year-old Artist/Illustrator Displays Her Work at Magoski Arts Colony

For immediate release: Eleven-year-old artist/illustrator Sasha Roberson is presenting some of her works at Magoski Arts Colony in Fullerton, CA, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on July 4th, 2014.

Local Orange County artist Sasha Roberson is exhibiting her work from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. this Fourth of July at Magoski Arts Colony (www.magoskiartscolony.com) in Fullerton, CA.

Miss Roberson creates expressive ink drawings. One of her drawings was on her gallery wall for only a few minutes when two viewers began to haggle over the piece. It sold for $45.

In addition to ink drawings, Miss Roberson experiments with other media, including stop-motion animation. Examples of this artwork have been posted to her Facebook pages. Miss Roberson also writes. One of her gallery pieces - the one that sold for $45 - describes her plight of being grounded and having at her disposal only a piece of paper and a pen.

Last year, at the young age of 10, Miss Roberson was hired by Chevron Books Inc. (www.chevronbooks.com) to illustrate a children's book, The Marshmallow Test. This book explores the feelings and coping strategies of "waiting for something even better," even when a tempting treat (a marshmallow) is immediately available. Miss Roberson's illustrations capture the main character's emotion at every stage of waiting.

It was during this project that she was diagnosed with highly-functioning Autism. The diagnosis and any associated challenges do not prevent Miss Roberson from realizing her creative potential.

You are invited to meet Sasha Roberson at the Magoski Arts Colony (www.magoskiartscolony.com) at 225 West Santa Fe Avenue, Downtown Fullerton, CA 92832.
